Browsing without an account
You can read every page without signing in. We set no cookies for visitors who are not signed in, run no advertising or tracking scripts, and do not record which pages you visit.
To slow down abuse we count requests that change something (for example, asking for a sign-in email). We count them under a one-way hash of your IP address mixed with a value that changes every day; the counter disappears after at most an hour. We never store the IP address itself.
Your account
- Email address: used to send you sign-in links and nothing else unless you later choose to get other emails. It is never shown on the site or shared, and never sold.
- Sign-in links: each one works once, for 20 minutes. We store only a one-way hash of it, and delete it a day after it expires. While a link is fresh we also keep a hash of the address it was sent to for an hour, to limit how many links one address can get.
- Session cookie (
cm_session): the only cookie we set, and only after you sign in. It keeps you signed in for up to 60 days; we store only a one-way hash of it. It is strictly necessary for your account to work. - Public name: the handle you choose. It appears next to what you post. Use any name you like; it does not have to be your real one.
What you post is public
Your watch status (including where you stopped), ratings, one-line reviews and trope votes are shown on the title’s page and on your public page under your handle. Totals (counts, averages, where people dropped a drama) are computed from them.
Find
The words you type into Find are used to answer that search and are not stored. If you tap “This is it” on a result, we keep the words you typed (up to 200 characters), the title you picked, its position and the date, with nothing that identifies you, to measure and improve the finder. We drop anything that looks like an email address or a long number. These records are deleted after 13 months.
Who handles data for us
The site runs on Cloudflare (hosting, database). Sign-in emails are sent through Resend. Both process data only to provide those services to us.
Deleting your account
On your account page you can delete your account. That immediately deletes your email address, sessions, watch status, ratings, reviews, reports and votes. Our database provider keeps point-in-time recovery copies for up to 30 days, after which the deleted data is gone from those too.
Children
You must be 13 or older to create an account.

Links to the apps, YouTube and other sites take you to their pages, under their own privacy policies.
